Absolutely right. The problem is, most passengers, encouraged by certain airlines, and airports as well (it's all about passenger numbers and footfall, after all), think that a "good deal" is the absolute lowest fare without taking into consideration the other aspects of travel.
Unfortunately, the result seems to be ever-decreasing business travel possibilities, especially from regional airports. Certainly the IOM has borne the brunt of that in roller-coaster fashion over the years.
