The Fokker Triplane issue is simple. Small lightweight aircraft are mostly a danger to themselves. Heavy and fast aircraft become a great danger to others, in direct proportion to their weight and at the square of their speed.
Additionally, the complexity and low tolerance of system malfunctions of vintage mil jets counts against them when it comes to private operation. Just my opinion.
