Bad Attitude?
Sounds like the Skipper had a bad attitude, or more likely, was annoyed by something else and looking to take offence at somebody!
The controller simply underlined a taxi instruction effectively " your coming to a taxiway junction, remember that I want you on X not Y"
The pilots reaction was hugely disproportionate.
