It's called a FR now (Flight Review).

a) You only need the ASIC to fly into a security controlled aerodrome, if you're flying into one on the FR you can be escorted by an ASIC holder (your instructor, he/she will have one).

b) The instructor is allowed to make one written entry only on your CAR5 licence. That entry will be the successful completion of your FR. He/she should then fill in the form for the FR and for the issue of your Part61 licence. It's no biggie but you have to put on that form all the ratings and endorsements you are claiming, with photocopied evidence from your logbook, i.e. MPPC/Retract Undercarriage etc.

c) I can recommend one in Victoria (but I have a vested interest!)
