I've just finished "Scramble" by Tom Neil.. and I'd rate it as one of
the very best accounts of the BoB I've ever read - the book finishes with the story of the author's subsequent service in Malta.. His stories of his training had me laughing out loud! Some things never change.. Highly recommended.
