I've had a personal Lenovo laptop for 4 years, and been very happy with it.
I particularly like the full-size keyboard with numeric keypad, which is a godsend if you do a lot of numeric entry (spreadsheets, etc.).
I haven't had any need of after sales service, so I can't comment on that aspect.
Lenovo was also on our shortlist for corporate laptop replacement, losing out to HP on price, not on features and capability.
