Totally screwed over..even shutdown his own airline (QF) for a couple of days in some contrived spat with the engineers and ground staff. He's doing well with the EK tie-up; how long that remains to work remains to be seen. That is the danger to bringing in an outside CEO..They'll take a cane knife and a can pf petrol to whatever expat benefits are left...
That being said, he probably couldn't f+ck it up any more than the present incumbent.
