I suppose the issue is that the TCX service is not daily, and I don't think it operates in winter.
Ideally MAN would have a daily or close to daily year round operation from a carrier which either has a hub operation at LAX or has acess to a partner's hub at LAX.
The present situation is okay, but to capture more of the MAN-LAX market on direct services (and any onward connections) there is clearly a lot more to be done.
