Under the current system of cash allowances, CPA have to deposit millions of dollars/yen/euro's etc with Hotels around the world so that cash is on hand to distribute to Crew "on the spot".
Management would dearly love to stop this arrangement and credit the allowance in arrears with monthly pay. Cash would no longer be tied up and the administrative burden would be less. This is what most Airlines do.
The disadvantage for the Cockpit and Cabin Crew would obviously be that this would then be subject to HK IRD tax.
Definitely unpopular!
