As a Flight Ops Officer holding a Dispatch License,I'm often besieged with queries from our Dispatch HQ asking us to " check with ATC" whether the so-and-so route is free from restrictions;this in spite of all the Notams and AIP Supplements given to them by us to aid them in flight planning,not to mention timely e-mails and telexes regarding sudden airspace,airport closures.
Often,we go over the same stuff that they can and consult ATC(they get pretty annoyed
at our juvenile queries when the same data has already been disseminated,and rightly so!!) and reply back.
Another way to go about would be to simply file the flight plan over AFTN and check the response from any enroute FIR!!
Is there a website which offers a sort of validation of an ATS Route before it can be filed?
