Vary good point LAX regarding the flexibility of arriving at and returning from different airports for DIY touring / fly-drive holidays, and opens up opportunities for tour operators with escorted tours as well.
For that reason, I can understand why some expect Virgin to start LAX in due course from MAN after SFO, although these days folk seem more amenable to flying out on one airline and returning on another if the fares are attractive.
