If I was a bit younger (49) I would probably go into turboprop and fly those for a bit and then try and go to jet but I suspect time aint on my side and I probably can't afford to risk that route.
Most airlines seem only to consider pilots with 500 hrs on type if you're not from an academy so its a bit of chicken and egg.
