Thank you for your reply. Yes, I did want to do my Class 1 before doing any training, as if it wasn't achievable, then hopefully I'd save myself thousands. Mind you, all these Medicals and reviews are already costing an arm and a leg!!
When you say 'in the trade' do you mean eyes or aviation?
From the tests that I've had since, I'm confident I should be able to pass (maybe not easily).. I've managed to read the line below the required at my local opticians. 6/5, both eyes corrected, and the standard is 6/6.
