The book is based upon the earlier 1994 version but now much enlarged with the addition of the units (the likes of MARTSU, MDMF, AES, ADTU etc, to name but a few), hence the title change, and every unit has been thoroughly re-checked and amended with the benefit of 22 years of additional research and the current squadrons all brought right up to date. The addition of colour badges (with the exception of those that were never officially sanctioned which remain in mono) is the first time that every squadron badge has ever been printed in one publication and drawn by the same hand. Battle Honours are now THE most accurate version (the 'official' ones being widely acknowledged to be incorrect) and for the first time there are photographs of many of the airfields used around the world.
