I recall be rejected by CX many times after my "colourful" episode in the 70's but GA, bush, etc, would not have cut-it. Indeed, in the 80's, with ALL the boxes ticked (dare I say, ticked many boxes...damn, here I go again (!)), I was rejected, again, at the application stage because I had no "underslung" jet experience. I mean, c'mon ; 4 engine turbos, twin jet, trijet, collection (ok, two) boeings, useful P1 time on the boeings got me no further than the initial stage. Good fortune to Yellow Knife. Looking at the unhappiness that appears to exist in the current CX, once he has been nurtured into a "marketable" level of experience, he will have the foresight to move on.
