Good spot. A little digging on the net shows that Cobham have delivered a buddy-buddy pod for the Su-30 (Type 754) and there's also a pod for the Mig-29 - actually, it looks more like a palette, I'm not sure if it's jettisonable. It looks as if the carrier may not have had its tanker airborne for the recovery. Or they just ran out of time as the deck issues happened.
