UK field landings probably differ from African....
I landed in a winter wheat crop, the farmer was not amused and wanted pay for crop damage, suggested that he would not permit the glider to be removed until he had compensation....so we said fine, you are responsible now for any damage it may sustain while it is under your care and control. He became much more helpful after that.
The only unkind farmer encountered in 30 years of field landings!
