Thumbs up Marketscore spyware

The other week Mrs SLF decided it would be a good idea to add her name to a mailing list and go in for competitions and get special offers etc, and this site also said it could speed up the internet connection with an internet accelerator (since we have broadband no idea why she wanted to do this).

Anyway the point of this is that she managed to install some spyware called MARKETSCORE on the PC, this hides very neatly in, tools, internet options, connections, Lan settings in internet explorer.

MarketScore is a proxy service which claims to increase the speed of your internet connection. It runs at startup to ensure all your web connections are routed through MarketScore's proxies. This means that it logs every web connection you make, including 'secure' connections, goes through the proxies and is logged and analysed on behalf of MarketScore's customer companies.

What I thought was to remove it manually by changing the lan settings but IE won't work if you have to use a different proxy and it will kill your internet connection if you try to delete the csloa.dll component manually.

After much weeping and gnashing of teeth I found the hidden uninstall here -

Ran it last night and no more Marketscore !!!

Worth checking on your pc to see if you have accidentally installed this spyware, and now you can remove it easily
