He was the architect of the Darwin base debacle as well as the A330 Singapore base which cost a lot more than was prepared to be forgiven by the wielders of the axe. He was well and truly on board with the Jetstar franchise going off shore. BTW that number of 110 Airbi (plural of Airbus) has been bandied about since 2008 when it was used as a carrot to get the F/O's to agree to the EBA. The statement was along the lines of: (cue chart showing 110 deliveries in 3 years) "All these aircraft have been ordered and must be delivered so every F/O in the airline now will have a command in 3 years."
