Dunno the traffic levels at that airport, but both look like normal base training patterns for new first officers. Back in my time we had to do 12 landings without passengers and usually did them in visual patterns, nowadays i think it has been reduced to only 6 per new pilot. Usually we paired up a few new first officers at a time and they did their landings one after another, all in all it could be a few hours in the pattern with some longer patterns to allow for other traffic.
