EVAC is a serious issue. Trust the manufacturer. If it was an issue they would asked you to retract.
On aircraft types which do have problems with clearance, they don't necessarily rely on pilot action. The spoilers are forced down by explosive squibs & actuators electrically triggered by door (or fuselage hatch) opening.
