The distance on the "A to C" question is
not a departure.
Departure is the distance measured along a parallel, a rhumb line with both ends at the same latitude. A and C are not at the same latitude (unless the feedback supplied to me is mistaken) and the question as I have had it reported does not indicate a rhumb-line or other extended route so a great circle, approximated by a straight line on the chart, should be used. The chart is supplied so the distance can be measured directly, it is as simple as that!
