My problem is that I need an 8.33 radio to fit the "letterbox" hole in the panel when I remove the perfectly good old Narco unit after 20 years of loyal service. The only affordable unit which I can find is the f.u.n.k.e.
ATR 833a OLED Transceiver in 160mm format. From what I'm reading in your comments, I'll be lucky to get 10 years from it, especially the OLED bit! Not being readable in bright sunlight isn't much of an issue in Scotland.
Any suggestions for something else to fill a rectangular opening?
