Libel/defamation are civil matters, nought to do with the police. And she is lawyered up with a specialist in the field, so presumably has been so advised.
Wasting police time on the other hand, is a criminal offence.
There are a number of
criminal offences which do exist in relation to computer systems, to which Ms CT. may have been alluding. The chances of any of them having been committed in this case is small, and the liklihood of the MP bothering to even investigate to see if they have been is from "vanishingly small" to zero.
