Why 4 hours? The 12 hours can include the instructional flight, so only three hours. If done within the time an instructor can sign of that flight but the licence needs signing by an examiner so make sure there is an examiner handy. If you go past Sunday then it is a test with an examiner anyway and he/she will be able to sign you off.
