Too true. I hate it when some smart ass kid in middle management says - you can't be fatigued the duty was legal.
Perhaps the Fatigue reporting mechanism needs to include a caveat which highlights the effect your Fatigue had on flight safety and submit an ASR or incident report as well.
Unfortunately, the onus now falls on the pilots to manage their own Fatigue / Safety as neither the industry nor the regulators around the world seem willing to address this fundamental important issue.
