Currency when converting ICAO to EASA ATPL

Hey Flightbros and Flightsistas,

Tell me something, if I want to convert my ICAO ATPL to the EASA ATPL, (starting with the Easa Medical to then tackle the 14 exams) do I need to be current with the ICAO license, or can I just go in with expired licenses (and type ratings) ?

With other words, I live in Europe now and did not fly for 4 years at all, so do I have to go back to the US made in China to get my FAA medical and license up to date, or would that not be an issue, and all I have to do is to get my EASA medical and then sign up for the exams?

Thanks in advance!
