The Russians had inferior equipment at the start of WW2 but towards the end it was different , They had at least one decent fighter-name escapes me and the IL 2Sturmovik was a deadly Ground Attack aircraft- like the Stuka it was a sitting duck for fighters but thats wasnt what it was designed for.
Like their tanks which went from rubbish to the T34 in about a year and that won the war on the eastern front and was vastly superior to any western WW2 tank.
They just march to a different drum to us ,sometimes they get things right and sometimes they don't . The point someone made about history and attempted invasions of Russia though remains very relevant-leave em alone , like your parents said about wasps , dont bother them and they won't bother you-but .......
