A shortened type rating, command course and new routes/regions is too much all at once in this training environment - they'd be a liability for 6 months, so they may as well do those 6 months in the RHS where they can be get some basic experience/knowledge/confidence before switching seats. 330/340 captains, have, without doubt, operated in far more difficult flight regimes/airfields, than any "super" has operated.
Any EK 330/340 captain can easily and safely be ccc'd onto the 380.
I should know, I came for from the little fleet- and the 380 is a doddle in comparison.
