Much talk on here about something described as 'muscle memory'? I would have to have that explained to me a little more. However it appears to suggest limb movement absent of conscious thought? I would strongly suggest that is no way to fly a modern jet!
That is how you drive your car and how you walk, ( you don't have to think about each step do you? ) and it is how the PF pushed the TOGA button, what a shame he didn't have the same cognitive process for advancing thrust. He probably used to but after a year or two of 777 that neural pathway was full of cob webs. ( IMO)
