I wouldn't read too much into this - Singapore is known to keep a young fleet, dumping airframes when they're due for heavy maintenance and getting new ones.
SQ leased the A380s under so called "full-life" terms, which means SQ must complete heavy maintenance & checks on the airframes, engines, etc.,
prior to returning the aircraft to the lessor.
