There's been nothing to suggest the Welsh government are subsidising this route. BE took on the route in response to the tunnel closure and just for that time period. There's been a lot of support to keep the route but it's viability once the tunnel reopens has been put into question. The route will attract last minute business bookings, so looking ahead isn't a true reflection. Last minute prices have been over £125 one way CWL-LCY on the AM flight.
I wouldn't bet my house in it but why would Flybe conjour up an aircraft with all the associated crewing issues just to fly a route for such a limited period? Money's changed hands IMHO.
