Heli Portugal had (has?) the same problem many other companies have:

Inexperienced pilots (on paper they all look great, but some of them are just not good pilots, or better: their style of flying does not match the hours they pretend to have), and bad management (meaning they just care about some things, letting go of others that are even more important).

I had the pleasure of working with them on fires for one or two seasons....the flying part is good, the copilots i had were great (although low-timers), but some of the managementīs decisions were......questionable at least.

Funny to see some of the low-time copilots in the Captainīs seats now, with only a few hundred hours extra.......just to make sure they can claim to have "local pilots only"....
