I could be mistaken but I believe easyjet chose to cancel some flights around then because of French ATC industrial action. I know Stobart managed to operate to both French destinations during that period without too many problems.
Throughout the summer, apart from Paris and possibly Jersey, easyjet appear to have frequently sold out, and when a seat was available you could expect to pay over £300 one way to Spain or Portugal and even over £150 to AMS. A friend, who lives a couple of miles from the airport told me was a bit p'eed off because he had to travel with his wife and kids to STN or pay easyjet close to double for 4 return tickets from Southend to Malaga.
As for the Flybe/Sobart figures, lets hope that growth proves consistent. Very positive news I think.
