Passport Card

The new Irish credit card size Passport Card is only for use in European Countries and it is more convenient to carry compared to the regular Passport Book.
Ireland and the UK do not issue National ID cards.
Most European countries issue National ID cards.
In summary the new Passport Card will allow bearers to travel using it alone to anywhere in the EU – plus three countries in the European Economic Area (Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway)
