When I held on the OCU before my VC10 course, dear old 'JR' told me about those VIP/VVIP positioning flights with a new VIP captain going there for the first time. "This is probably the easiest trip you'll ever do without a VIP on board", he said, "We'll just take-off, climb to around 4000ft, then do whatever ATC want whilst we all have a cup of tea. The only planning you need is the approach chart and more importantly, the taxiway chart."
Off they went, all went smoothly and the new VIP captain breathed a huge sigh of relief. 'JR' knew just how to get the best out of his students and it was a total pleasure to fly with him.
