eggc, I'm afraid we've come to expect patronising or arrogant remarks from some posters. My thought was elderly folk with perhaps limited mobility but who are keen to be positive and keep taking holidays. Not sure they would relish two changes of train to get a flight from LGW rather than a direct flight from MAN, even with 12kg cases.
Years ago I used the BA service from MAN to LGW and it was usually pretty busy. Whether there is still sufficient demand though with a mix of connecting and business pax at both ends of the route to support a flight appears to be doubtful. And wouldn't there be slot restrictions at LGW at the busy times that business folk would want?
