To the OP:
Sky-Map (note the hyphen) is my app of choice, it's available for iOS and Android. I use it alongside Flight Planner (
Flight Planner Homepage).
Sky-Map - planning / GPS navigation on my tablet / iPhone.
Flight Planner - preflight prep inc W&B, Fuel, Start / Landing roll, weather, printing of maps (to ensure I have a back up in case GPS is blocked or some other failure).
