Absolutely tragic. Apart from the obvious impact on staff and contract workers the negative effect on the domestic travelling public will be huge. Aero were the only barely punctual way to get from a to b. Their rotary business was also the main foil used by the oil multinationals to maintain a competitive tendering process until the plunder of their coffers began.

The parallel previously drawn between Venezuela and Nigeria appears somewhat prophetic in hindsight. One glaring difference is that the people are rallying to oust President Maduro; somehow I doubt such cohesive action is a realistic prospect in a country riven by religious/tribal loyalties.
