Hopefully it has a future in general aviation. With Wellesbourne in the sights of the local council looking for somewhere to build houses, private owners and businesses may need to find somewhere else to operate from. A smaller Coventry could be that airfield, whilst also freeing up some of the site for industrial and commercial development.
There are far too many commercial airports in UK, and frankly, losing another marginally sustainable one would be no great loss.
