What they did do is opt for the "FAST, SHORT TERM RYANAIR OPTION". This ended Stobart completely at SNN (Returned later without a base and with less ops), a fairly vital airline. Now we are seeing all of the new fancy routes being cut and sliced.
Agree to a degree but without Ryanair expansion the numbers wouldn't be what they are today - reality is Ryanair are the only show in town for significant expansion however their new model is seeing expansion of previous years been tampered with better opportunities elsewhere around Europe - this will see any growth out of likes of cork and Shannon and even knock be challenging for the foreseeable future - what do you think ?
