I often used the 16.00 to Edinburgh in substitution to Flybe, catching the train at Piccadilly. Lightly loaded from the airport, heavily used by commuters on stations between Piccadilly and Preston where it filled up again. I once stood all the way to Edinburgh having given up my seat to an elderly lady, but seldom that full!
