It's not just business pax in the sharp end. Leisure passengers don't automatically mean economy class anymore.
Very true, and also Mr A Tis's comment that business travellers are less likely to travel J class than they used to. P/E has proved a very useful compromise I suspect from a cost perspective..
Mind you, the CEO and VPs of the American company I worked for back in the 80s were obliged to travel economy Transatlantic under corporate policy, but that was more unusual then.
However, to the point about weekends and cheaper leisure fares in J class, it was quite normal in those days for business pax to fly out to the States Sunday ready for a Monday morning start, presumably with a full fare flexible ticket or corporate contracted fare. Is that still the case I wonder?
