Public transport

My original post, Philbky, concerned Manchester's poor performance in encouraging greater usage of public transport and I was merely suggesting that better connectivity at the airport may be helpful in this regard.

It's interesting to note that as part of its expansion, London City (which is the class leader here with circa 45% of passengers using public transport) has announced the following:

- more trains for Docklands Light Railway
- new bus and taxi scheme
- improved cycle and pedestrian routes

Manchester by comparison appears to have withdrawn the bus service connecting the terminals, according to posters above.

I can only surmise that planning permission did not stipulate enhanced public transport usage.
