Ex EU? GOT is in Sweden which is in the EU (Norway isn't, might be that you're thinking of?). GOT is also a small airport so not very good for onward connections unless you were going to places that already have direct flights from MAN (OSL, ARN, HEL, etc).

ex-EU as in starting your trip in the EU. In usage though it really means starting outside of the UK and somewhere inside continental Europe and Scandinavia.
From GOT you are generally flying back to LHR on BA and onwards from there, saving large amounts over starting in the UK for long haul J/F.
