neither are terms used or in favour with many female fliers
don't quite know why that is . . .. . maybe they think it is somehow discriminatory or just that the words themselves grate on the ear . . .
many an actor of the female gender prefers to be known as an 'actor' rather than an 'actress'.
it is now a cliche to say 'the hostess with the mostest'
