Yes, I mentioned that average out a couple of pages back, and that for instance it makes it comfortable to avoid the worst weather, or gives time to settle luggage carrying disputes.
Apparently the record for driving a car from Cape Town to London is about 10 days (two drivers, not solo).
That sounds like much more of a challenge than taking four times as long in a device which can cruise faster, over shorter straighter distances, with less traffic and environment risk.
