Many of you are missing the point.

Airbus are losing money on each A380 they produce. They are not in the business of charity or arogence. It's time to cut their losses hence the reduction in production rates....which means a loss of economies of scale...which means the A380 product is at huge risk of being shelved all together.

Forget EK load factor/Cargo hold/Super call sign and how much the pax love to fly 380. EK are stuck with an aircraft that will be almost impossible to resell. The depreciation of their assets has just accelerated in a big way.

Also, why would any more airports invest in the infrastructure to facilitate the A380...when the chances are that not many more will be produced.

It's not good news for the A380.
