Thank you for the replies and as ever with the Internet there is probably enough information out there to come to the same conclusion but I didn't realise the extent of the issue.
I bet crew shortage was not the explanation given to the Biarritz passengers when the flight was cancelled.
EMB 175 JC sat at Cardiff since 17th not flown
EMB-175 JI sat at BHX not flown since 17th
EMB-175 -JB sat at MAN since mid afternoon yesterday
EMB-175 JK sat at MAN not flown since yesterday evening
EMB-175 JE - sat at BHX not flown since last night
EMB-175- JF sat at BHX not flown since last night
As for the 195's all active except for the BHX spare.
Half the fleet not flying this morning which is not great but if you haven't got crews then I suppose no alternative.
The only good thing is only one cancellation as far as I can see today and even that is only showing cancelled outbound with the inbound showing delayed a couple of hours.

Lets hope this gets sorted although not exactly a five minute fix.
