Whether a can of coke is safety equipment or not it is still only worth a couple of bucks. Therefore it should only cost a couple of bucks whether it is safety equipment or not. Do you blokes work for CASA? Your attitude indicates that you do. Just bellow SAFETY and stuff the cost . NEVER EVER check that the cost is justified or that a better alternative might be found.
